View Research Overview & References
Mechano Growth Factor (MGF) is a synthetic peptide that mimics the C-terminal portion of the MGF protein, an isoform of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). This peptide consists of 24 amino acids and is studied in vitro and in vivo (animal) laboratory research, with applications focused on examining cellular mechanisms related to muscle cell biology.
Muscle Cell Research
In vitro studies have examined MGF’s association with cell proliferation, migration, and resistance to injury-induced cell death markers. Laboratory research has studied MGF’s effects on satellite cell numbers in cultured muscle cell models, contributing to basic research on muscle tissue repair mechanisms.1
Cell Transplantation Research
Animal model research using synthetic MGF E-peptide has examined its effects on myogenic precursor cell transplantation outcomes in mice, including markers of cell proliferation, migration, and differentiation timing following transplantation.2
Tendon Cell Research
Laboratory research has examined MGF’s effects on tendon-like cell structures in animal models. Researchers assessed tendon morphology, collagen arrangement, and cell growth markers, observing changes in these markers in MGF-treated groups.3,4
Neuronal Cell Stress Research
MGF has also been examined in vitro for its effects on neuronal cell models under neurotoxic stress conditions. Laboratory research has examined MGF’s association with HO-1 expression, a marker of cellular stress-response pathways, and its relationship to mitochondrial function markers and cell death markers in these models.5
Cell Signaling Pathway Research
Additional in vitro research has examined MGF’s association with Akt signaling pathway activation, a pathway studied in relation to cell survival and growth signaling, contributing to basic research on MGF’s mechanisms in cellular biology.1
Important Notice
MGF is intended exclusively for in vitro and in vivo (animal) laboratory research and is not approved for use in humans or animals. These findings do not establish safety, efficacy, or suitability for any human or animal application, and this product has not been evaluated by the FDA or any regulatory agency.
Product Information
MGF is supplied as a research reagent for laboratory use only, available in bulk quantity.
