View Research Overview & References

Fragment 176-191 is a synthetic peptide analog of human growth hormone (hGH) with a molecular weight of 1812 g/mol. This peptide consists of 16 amino acids from the C-terminus of hGH, spanning positions 176 to 191, and includes a substitution of tyrosine to phenylalanine at position 191, a modification studied for its effects on lipid metabolism pathways.1 Functionally, Fragment 176-191 is studied for its interaction with pituitary receptors relevant to growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) signaling pathways.2

Lipid Metabolism Research

Fragment 176-191 has demonstrated lipolytic activity in laboratory studies. In a genetically engineered mouse model with increased fat stores, the peptide was associated with increased fat breakdown. This effect was absent in mice lacking the beta-3 adrenergic receptor (ADRB3), indicating that this activity is mediated through this receptor in the animal model studied.3 Additional research has examined the peptide’s effects on thermogenesis markers in skeletal muscle in animal models.

Glucose and Insulin Signaling Research

Animal studies have examined Fragment 176-191’s effects on insulin secretion and blood glucose markers.4 These are preliminary laboratory findings in animal models and do not establish safety, efficacy, or suitability for any human or animal application.

Product Information

Fragment 176-191 is supplied as a lyophilized white powder at a concentration of 5 mg/vial.
